This music was originally born at school. For the school. The pieces tell about a path of life which began there, in the classrooms where theatrical scripts are rehearsed for the shows performed with young actors, where tension merges with exciting trepidation waiting for the scene. So, in thrilling, but also delicate, work surroundings, we find ourselves by necessity working with two different needs: above all the educational need, and practical, to organize the songs and the ditties of the scenes for the shows which are to be interpreted by the students of the schools; on the other hand, with this, we don’t intend to completely give up the arrogant interior need to express in music the splendours that are transmitted by the communion of texts enriched with history and significance. The reading of the text suggests ideas that sometimes merge with a memory or emotion, a reflection of something that has remained in our mind and re-emerges. The original idea of “Dormono le cime dei monti” was born for example in front of the majestic scenery of the Trentino Dolomites, between the crown and the rosy peaks that surround the Val di Fassa and the austere, enchanting seduction of the rockfaces around the Passo San Pellegrino. In this way the songs that appear in this collection were born. Occasional memories or deep-rooted sentiments in our mind that merge with the deep and passionte study of the literary text. The desire to create and communicate feelings perceived and experienced, the love of literature and the passion for music and its teaching.
