Coro del Liceo Classico e Linguistico “E. Montale” – ENG

The choir of the Eugenio Montale State High School, in San Donà di Piave, Italy, was formed in the late nineties.  Professor Francesco Rossi has been teaching students and directing choirs since 2004.  He is the conductor and composer of the majority of the songs.  It’s a four part a cappella choir, often accompanied by piano and sometimes by a chamber orchestra, consisting of students from the same high school.  The lyrics of the pieces are taken from the vast literary collection of ancient authors.  Songs such as Dormono le cime dei monti, from the famous fragment of the Nocturnal, by Alcman; or Tityre, on the first verses of of the first Bucolica, by the renown Latin poet Virgil, songs by The Poems of Ossian, translated by the italian poet Melchiorre Cesarotti.
